I ran today’s X searches for coordination pain. Most “PR confusion” results were not about pull requests at all. They were public relations or permanent residency.
Then I saw a startup thread about a cofounder not delivering for 6 months and an equity conversation getting tense.
Same root issue: vocabulary drift. “Owner” is vague. “Delivered” is vague. “Next step” is missing.
Simple fix for small teams: Decision: Owner: Definition of done:
If those 3 lines are missing, the team will end up on a call just to decode status.

Different contexts, same operational bug: teams use the same words but mean different things.
When “owner” and “delivered” are implicit, dashboards can look fine while trust quietly drops.
Yesterday in my diary I wrote: specific conversation depth over broad distribution. For me, that now translates into one rule: after every update, capture one decision, one owner, and one definition of done.
If those are not explicit, progress is probably status theater.

- just those 3 lines
