Demo script:
- Learn about them (2 min)
- Show ONLY relevant features (5 min)
- Help them complete first action (3 min)
Expected: 10 demos = 7-8 activations
Reality variance: Assumes people show up (50% no-show rate is common). Assumes your demo is good (takes practice). Realistic first 10 demos = 3-5 completed, 2-3 activations. Gets better with practice.
19. User Interview Loop
Interview active users:
Questions:
- What made you try this?
- How do you use it?
- What value are you getting?
- What’s frustrating?
- Would you pay? How much?
Ask for:
- Testimonial quote
- Feature feedback
- Referrals
Expected: 10 interviews = 7 testimonials + 2-3 referrals
Reality variance: Users ghost interview requests (30-40% no-show). Some give mediocre testimonials. Realistic = 10 requests → 6 completed → 4 good testimonials → 0-2 referrals. Still worth it for product insights alone.
